Together with Jenesys Associates we are evaluating two separate gender equality in school projects in 2017.
For the South East Physics Network (SEPnet) we are involved in their pilot project Shattering Stereotypes which aims to use the subject of girls in physics as a springboard into discussion about wider gender equality across the wider school.
And the Institute of Physics, working with King’s College London, are piloting a charter for gender equality in schools called Opening Doors which has stemmed from years of research into gender balance in physics.
We’re excited to be working with schools to explore the issues in more depth. I’ve spoken with some enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who are doing some fantastic work with their students, not only in gender, but across all types of equality and stereotyping.
